

Head of Sales/Destination Experts
The Head of Sales & Destination Experts is responsible for leading and managing the sales team, ensuring high-quality travel planning and client interactions while driving revenue growth. This role requires strategic leadership, a deep understanding of the luxury and ultra-luxe travel segment, and the ability to foster strong relationships with both clients and industry partners.
The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative, and skilled at leading a team to deliver exceptional travel experiences and departmental goals. This role demands flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness to client and company needs, industry trends, and last-minute changes, with some travel required for business development, industry events, and supplier visits.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and support the Destination Experts team, a dedicated group of 10+ staff, to ensure high performance.
- Establish and implement sales targets and performance strategies for the team.
- Ensure seamless collaboration between sales and operations teams for smooth itinerary execution.
- Attend leadership meetings and report directly to the company CEO, contributing to strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.
Sales & Business Development:
- Execute a strategic sales plan to increase revenue and expand market reach.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with travel agents and key partners.
- Represent the company at international travel shows, networking events, and supplier inspections.
Itinerary Planning & Client Experience:
- Oversee the creation of bespoke travel itineraries, ensuring innovation, quality, and feasibility.
- Maintain a high standard of planning, ensuring the team’s prompt communication and personalized recommendations.
- Provide expert guidance and support during client trips when necessary.
- Monitor agent and client feedback and refine strategies accordingly.
Operational Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with the Operations Team to ensure accurate trip execution and smooth handovers.
- Review and optimize internal workflows to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks, including pricing, invoicing, and commission tracking.
Market & Industry Insight:
- Stay informed on travel trends, competitor activity, and emerging luxury tourism opportunities in the Nordic region.
- Analyze sales performance data and adjust strategies as needed to optimize success.
- Act as a key advisor to leadership on market positioning and product development.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the luxury travel industry.
- Flexibility in work hours to meet company demands.
- Proven experience in luxury travel sales, destination management, or a similar role.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a sales team.
- In-depth knowledge of the Nordic travel market and high-end travel experiences.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities.
- Willingness to travel for business development, industry events, and supplier visits as needed.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
