General Manager for Tourism Company

Ice Pic Journeys is looking for a highly motivated and well-structured person to lead our operation into the future as our general manager. This would be a full-time office position, Monday through Friday from 7:30 - 15:30. We are looking for this person to start from the 1st of November.

About Ice Pic Journeys:

Ice Pic Journeys is a travel agency and day tour operator here in Iceland that specializes in private and semi-private tours with photo packages. All of our guides are photographers who capture our guests in their experience, after which our editing team will then create a photo package for them to take home as a long-lasting memory. We also pride ourselves in offering the first and only glacier zipline in the world.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Relations: Oversee the Admin team on customer communication, sales, custom trip designing

• Operations: Oversee the admin team on booking management, daily operational reports, trip management and assist in guide scheduling

• Team Training: Admin Team and Guides on internal systems

• Digital Marketing: Oversea the admin team Website development to maximise SEO and Social Media Scheduling

• Systems Development and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Product Management: Oversee and create new products effectively on Bokun and Online Travel Agents (OTAs), Assist with product development and creation

• Oversee the bookkeeping team member in accounting

• Business Development: Cultivate B2B relationships, Influencer/ partner management

• Submit monthly passenger reports to Vatnajokull National Park

• China Sales Team: Oversee the progress and communicate goals

• Other miscellaneous tasks

Education and Qualification Requirements:

• Experience managing a team

• Experience is tourism sales and B2B marketing

• Experience is customer service and experience

• Experience in Icelandic tourism product management

• Experience in digital marketing: SEO and Social Media is a bonus

• A strong knowledge of Iceland as a tourism destination

• Good Icelandic is an advantage, but not essential

• Very good command of spoken and written English

• Good general computer skills

• Experience in Bókun and OTAs

• Strong organizational skills, organized work methods and solution-oriented thinking

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• An education that is useful in work is an advantage
