Environmental Sampling Specialist

ReSource, a forward-thinking and environmentally conscious company, is seeking a dedicated environmental sampling technician to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in sampling and analysis work for our customers to promote environmental sustainability. To begin with the main task is related to wastewater sampling but other projects with water and biogas might come at later stages.

Helstu verkefni og ábyrgð

Driving to designated sampling sites in Reykjavík and the surrounding countryside.
Operating and maintaining automatic water samplers.
Collecting wastewater samples according to established protocols.
Ensuring accurate documentation and secure transport of samples to laboratories.
Reporting any anomalies or issues encountered during sampling.

Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur

A degree in engineering, technical or natural sciences is desirable.
Experience in chemical analysis is desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Able to do strenuous work outdoors under various climatic conditions.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Icelandic speaking is a plus. Have a good attitude towards the customers.
Can use the basic functions in Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively and have a good attitude towards the customers.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.

Vehicle(s) - pick-up truck, four-wheel drive.
Tools (hand and power).
Meters and instruments:
- Water sampler
- Gas analyzer (portable and/or stationary)
- Multi-gas monitor (CO, H2 S), Oxygen analyzer, etc.

The position is for work from 1st of September 2025. Work will be done in Reykjavik area and the surrounding countryside and a working car will be provided during the day.
