Project Manager - Customer Delivery

An exciting job opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Electrical Technician to join DTE at a pivotal stage as we scale our production.

As part of our Delivery team, you will build advanced industrial systems that combine lasers, optics, robotics, automation, software, and real-time process measurement. These systems are delivered to major aluminum producers around the world.

You will play a key role throughout the delivery process, from assembling and wiring electrical cabinets to testing, upgrading, and servicing our systems at customer sites. You will help ensure that every system meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

This role is based in Iceland and requires a valid Icelandic work permit.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Project Management certification (PMI, IPMA, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Experience coordinating technical or industrial projects, preferably involving hardware, software, installation, commissioning, or customer delivery.
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to collaborate with Engineering, Production, Service, customers, and external partners.
  • Experience with project planning, documentation, risk tracking, and cross-functional coordination is an advantage.
  • Experience from aluminum, metals, recycling, manufacturing, or industrial technology is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
Main Tasks & Responsibililties
  • Manage customer delivery projects from contract signature through FAT, shipment, installation, commissioning, SAT, and handover to Service.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and status reporting.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers during project execution.
  • Coordinate activities across Engineering, Software, Production, Sales, and Service teams.
  • Track project progress, risks, actions, and dependencies to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Coordinate customer site readiness, including access, utilities, safety requirements, logistics, and installation conditions.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables, production readiness, testing, installation, training, and final handover.
  • Manage project documentation, change requests, and delivery records.
  • Coordinate external suppliers and subcontractors when required.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers and internal teams to resolve challenges.
  • Support continuous improvement of DTE’s project tools, processes, and documentation.
  • Support project reviews and lessons learned after delivery.
