Lead QA Engineer

Have you ever dreamt about being a crime-fighting ninja? Or what about just fighting crime with technology and skip the “ninja” part? Well, now you can! Lucinity creates modern anti-money laundering solutions for banks and fintechs which helps our users detect criminal activity and ultimately Make Money Good.

We are on a mission to help banks and other fintechs fight money laundering, making it more difficult for criminals to do their shady business. And you may ask: “Where do I come into the picture”?

Well, good question! We’ve got a fantastic team of Product Managers and Software Engineers that have created excellent products that are already making a difference. But, as you know, sometimes things don’t work. Sometimes they don’t work at the worst possible moment!

Imagine an Anti-Money Laundering Analyst. It’s their job to decide if a suspicious activity should be raised or not. As they press the “File a report” button, they expect their report to be filed, and the relevant authorities notified, but instead, the screen just says: “Undefined is not a function”. That’s where you come in. That’s why we need you!

As Lead QA Engineer, your responsibilities are:

  • Building a QA Infrastructure. We are a DevOps company. As such, a sound QA infrastructure is vital for us to succeed. You are responsible for building and maintaining integration and e2e test suites, integrating test executions for build and release pipelines, as well as feedback processes to report failures and successes.
  • Building our Product from a Quality Perspective. Quality is key, and we are big believers in building quality at source and not having quality as an afterthought. This means that we take quality very seriously at every step of the way, which means that QA Engineers are part of the journey of creating our products, from start to end.
  • Building a World Class QA Team. You are our Lead QA Engineer, and as such, it’s your responsibility to build up a world class QA Team within Lucinity. Grow your team and spread the culture of quality within the company. Be an example to other QA Engineers and Developers of how to build quality at source.

You will shine in this role if:

  • You are user centric. Everything within Lucinity is about the user and the user experience. We, therefore, consider the user at every step of the way when designing our products.
  • You are detailed oriented. Building high-quality products requires attention to detail. A complete product is a product that not only considers the happy path but deals with edge cases with a pleasant user experience.
  • You build people-centric teams. People in your team grow as individuals and as a team. You can create a high-performing culture with a human-first approach, where ego doesn’t stand in the way of the best decisions.

What's in it for you?

At Lucinity we are intentionally building a culture we love. A culture built on empathy, trust and continuous learning.

  • Feel at home around passionate, kind, talented and driven people? Then you'll fit right in!
  • Love learning new things? Fantastic! Learning and growth are woven into everything we do.
  • Like having fun? Great! We do too. We Make Money Good and we have fun doing it. Our very own Fun Squad ensures there are always plenty of varied activities planned locally and online.
  • Looking for the classic list of benefits? Well, you won't find it here. We are currently reviewing our benefits offering and our plan is to build it on the foundation of trust, just like everything else we do. We trust you to make the best decision about what you would benefit most from. More to come very soon!

Our headquarters are in beautiful Reykjavík, and we have a hub in majestic London, but our workforce is distributed. We prioritise local hires, but we're willing to go further afield for the right person. We do most of our talking via Slack and Zoom. Our culture is built around a hybrid work environment and your ability to decide where you believe you do your best work. As a Lead QA Engineer, we feel like closeness to the team would set you up for success from the start, and we would like nothing more than for you to succeed.

Why should you join us in Making Money Good?

Working at Lucinity means you are contributing to a better world. We empower humans whose responsibility is to identify and investigate potential money laundering transactions by providing the tools that take care of the heavy lifting for them, so they can let their talent run free. Our products help people make more informed decisions, that will ultimately allow them to detect and prevent financial crime.

We want to make sure everyone at Lucinity feels like they belong. What will support that mission is if our teams reflect the diversity of the world around us. And that starts with you! Don't worry about ticking all the boxes, we would love to see you hit that apply button. We embrace people from all backgrounds - regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, color, nationality, age, disability, neurodiversity, religion, socio-economic status, culture or beliefs.

The application deadline is Monday, 10 October 2022.

We look forward to hearing from you!
