SAP Functional Analyst – Manufacturing, Quality & PP/DS

Alvotech is looking for a SAP Functional Analyst – Manufacturing, Quality & PP/DS
This position sits in the IT department as part of the SAP team. The SAP Functional Analyst is the IT owner of the SAP S/4HANA processes that run manufacturing and quality: Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM) and Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS).

The role is the link between the business and the system. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain key users to understand how they work, keep the SAP solution stable and compliant, and improve it over time. That means resolving incidents, analyzing and designing changes, configuring the system, and making sure every change is properly tested, documented and validated before it reaches production.

This is a hands-on functional role in a regulated (GMP) manufacturing environment. You will not run the shop floor or the quality function yourself, but you need to understand them well enough to translate their needs into a reliable SAP solution and to challenge requirements where a better system approach exists.

Key responsibilities

Application support and operations

• Provide functional support for SAP S/4HANA, with primary focus on QM, PP and PP/DS.

• Support manufacturing and quality processes including production/process orders, master recipes, BOMs, work centers/resources, inspection lots, results recording, usage decisions and batch management.

• Analyze incidents, perform root-cause analysis and resolve issues within agreed service levels, escalating to SAP technical resources or external partners where needed.

• Provide day-to-day support and guidance to Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality key users.

Planning and scheduling (PP/DS)

• Support and optimize PP/DS planning and scheduling, including heuristics, planning runs, alerts and planning issues.

• Manage master-data dependencies and the integration between PP/DS and core S/4HANA (orders, resources, recipes, stock and demand).

Change and continuous improvement

• Gather and analyze business requirements and define the appropriate SAP configuration or functional enhancement.

• Translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate development with SAP technical resources and external consultants.

• Own SAP change requests end to end: impact assessment, configuration, functional and regression testing, UAT coordination and deployment to production.

• Lead smaller SAP enhancements and improvement initiatives within the QM / PP / PP-DS area, and contribute to larger projects and rollouts.

Compliance, documentation and training

• Follow GMP and computerized-system validation (CSV) requirements, including change control, test evidence and deviation handling for SAP changes.

• Maintain functional documentation, SOP-related system documentation and end-user training material.

• Train key users and end users on new and changed functionality.

Minimum requirements

• BS/BA degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain, Life Sciences or equivalent relevant education.

• Minimum 5 years of SAP functional experience, preferably within SAP PP, QM and/or PP/DS.

• Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA in a productive manufacturing environment.

• Hands-on configuration experience in at least one of PP, QM or PP/DS.

• Good understanding of manufacturing, quality and production-planning processes.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.

• Fluent written and spoken English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in a GMP-regulated industry (pharmaceutical, biotech or medical devices) and with computer-system validation.

• Experience with process manufacturing (process orders, master recipes, batch management).

• Knowledge of related modules and integrations, e.g. MM, WM/EWM, PM and MES or LIMS interfaces.

• Experience working with external SAP partners and an ITIL-based support model.

• SAP certification in PP, QM or PP/DS.
