Full Stack Developer — Live Ops

We're looking for a Full Stack Developer to join Live Ops - a product team focused on improving Icelandair’s day-of-operation performance.

We build and improve tools and ways of working for Icelandair operations that bring the right information to the right people at the right time, enabling fast and efficient decision-making. This means fewer delays, fewer cancellations, faster turns, smooth collaboration across the operation and better outcomes for our passengers.

What you’ll work on:

  • Build, iterate and maintain web applications used by operational teams
  • Deliver features end-to-end across UI, backend services, and data flows
  • Write and maintain integrations and automated workflows between systems
  • Work closely with product, design, and operational experts to turn real operational needs into practical software
  • Write maintainable code with sensible testing and good visibility
  • Contribute in a Scrum setup: refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives

Our tech today

We care more about strong engineering fundamentals than a perfect stack match, but here’s what we use:

  • Web apps: React, TypeScript, Node.js
  • Integrations & workflow automation: Windmill (developer platform to turn scripts into endpoints and workflows coded in Python or TypeScript)
  • Messaging: Kafka
  • Cloud: AWS and Azure

What we’re looking for:

Required

  • Proven ability to deliver production software in at least one modern language, and pick up new tech quickly
  • Mid-level experience is ideal, but we’re open to candidates outside that range who can demonstrate strong delivery.
  • You’ve worked in an Agile/Scrum environment (or something similar)
  • You can work independently, communicate clearly, and collaborate well with others

Nice to have

  • Experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and/or Python
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Familiarity with Kafka and distributed integrations
  • Experience working with AWS and/or Azure
  • Experience with workflow/orchestration tools such as Windmill

Benefits

  • A family-friendly workplace and flexible day-to-day arrangements when life happens
  • Real product ownership and a team that expects you to have a voice
  • Great facilities at Icelandair’s new HQ, including a gym and an excellent cafeteria
