Infrastructure Engineer IoT

We're looking for a person that is passionate about ‘automating everything’, scale, performance, security, and clean code. As an Infrastructure Engineer IoT you are a part of a team that is responsible for the deployment of the infrastructure, the stability, security, and availability of our hybrid cloud solutions. Your projects will include designing, deploying, and maintaining our IoT device.

As an Infrastructure Engineer at Marel, you will be working with a cross functional team of software-, test- and infrastructure engineers responsible for Marel's software Cloud solutions and SaaS platform. Our vision is to establish seamless delivery of our latest features directly to our customers with as little fuzz and manual labor as possible. This will mean working in an environment where you can work with and try-out the latest technologies and the ability to further expand your knowledge around these technologies.

You will provide technical leadership in developing infrastructure solutions that fulfill the needs of Marel’s software development teams. You will collaborate with multiple internal teams to create a coherent system architecture and resolve inter-dependencies, empowering embedded Infrastructure Engineers with the tools and knowledge they need as members of diverse product development teams.

Furthermore, we expect you to drive best practices for e.g., security, logging, monitoring, and alerting within software development.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of our network, software- and operations infrastructure for the IoT devices
• Lead the way in our use of containers and associated orchestration frameworks
• Implement automated procedures for software and OS update management
• Define and monitor our operations metrics and alerts
• Drive best practices for distributed logging and monitoring
• Develop and build Marel GNU/Linux OS distribution for our IoT devices
• Software development for IoT tooling
  
  

Qualifications/Desired Skills

• Comfortable developing and deploying containerized applications
• Strong Linux knowledge
• Experience developing in Python, C, and Rust
• Extensive experience of container technologies and container orchestration
• A solution minded and outgoing person
• Self-directed, has sense of urgency, sees priorities, takes initiative
• Passionate about automation, scale, performance, security, and clean code
• Understanding of the GNU/Linux boot process is a big plus
• Familiar with Azure IoT devices and technologies is a plus
• Experience with computer networking (IPv4, IPv6, routing protocols, etc.) is a plus
• Experience working with Operational technology (OT) network is a plus
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal
