Engine Programmer

CCP Iceland is looking for a talented Engine Programmer to support development of our proprietary multi-platform game engine.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in game engine development who excels in a collaborative, innovation-driven team environment. In this role, you will work alongside a team of engineers to develop our (soon to be) open-source game engine, Carbon. If you have a passion for building the core features of Carbon, we would love to hear from you. The role is in Reykjavík, Iceland with CCP offering full relocation support.

Your tasks:

Investigating, planning, and implementing projects related to the health and capabilities of the game engine
Identifying performance issues, researching, and implementing solutions to resolve those bottlenecks
Contribute to all aspects of release and sprint planning with the ability to estimate effort required
Maintaining and optimizing existing engine subsystems for all platforms
Ability to collaborate with team members to determine technical requirements of upcoming projects
Designing and implementing new engine subsystems for all platforms

Your Profile:

BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience with software development
Professional experience using C/C++
Familiarity with modern software development practices such as CI/CD, SDK and middleware integration, version control and code reviews
Experience using and developing with game engines
