

Financial Controller
We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our finance team at JBT Marel in Iceland. In this role, you will be responsible for the financial reporting of our legal entities and play an important part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial information.
You will work closely with colleagues in Financial Control, Business Control, and Shared Services, and you will have a broad interface across the organization. The role combines hands-on accounting work with opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
Your responsibilities
As Financial Controller, your key tasks will include:
- Ensuring a timely and accurate month-end close in accordance with US GAAP and JBT Marel accounting guidelines
- Preparing local financial statements and handling tax-related reporting
- Preparing and posting journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and intercompany entries
- Reconciling general ledger accounts and performing account analyses
- Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and local regulations
- Contributing to improvements in financial processes and reporting quality

Your background
We expect that you:
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business economics, or a related field
- Have experience from a similar role, or from auditing
- Have a solid understanding of accounting processes and financial reporting
- Are comfortable working with ERP systems and financial data
- Have experience with, or interest in, US GAAP and internal controls (SOX experience is an advantage)
- Have knowledge of local accounting and tax regulations
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English, both written and spoken
