Greets every member to make sure that their shopping experience goes well until the end of their Costco journey. Asks for members’ card to process items. Scans or keys barcode of membership card and starts processing items. Answers queries regarding merchandises and promotions. Scans orders by sliding items from conveyor belt and across tabletop scanner from left or right, depending on side of station, to the packing area. Uses hand-held scanning gun or keys item numbers when necessary. Transfers or ensures transfer of each item as number is scanned. Monitors all merchandise passing through register line, promoting accurate merchandise inventory. Requests supervisor verification for high-ticket items. Monitors merchandise quality while scanning and asks Front End assistant to change items in case their quality is questionable. Eases merchandise transfers to Front End Assistant in trolleys following safety and security procedures. Takes accurate payments from members by cash, debit cards, Amex credit cards or cheques. Makes the working environment a safe place – maintains the tidiness of the venue and assures security with specific goods.
