Senior Mechanical Engineer
Are you interested in contributing to the reduction of global CO2 emissions and working at the forefront of developing technical solutions within power-to-X, green chemicals, renewable chemicals, and e-fuels?
CRI is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will be working in CRI’s multidisciplinary engineering team, responsible for the design of CRI’s green methanol production facilities, based on CRI’s proprietary technologies. The role will be involved in various international projects across all phases, from feasibility studies to plant operation.
This role is based in Iceland, and the company offers relocation support for qualified candidates.
Helstu verkefni og ábyrgð
- Design and modeling of static mechanical equipment, such as pressure vessels and reactors.
- Coordinate preparation of facilities layouts / GA plans, and all associated deliverables such as plot plans.
- Lead engineer responsibility for static and rotating mechanical equipment. Multidisciplinary coordination of mechanical packages.
- Company representative during factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Provide assistance during construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Provide support, expertise, and input to company processes such as Operations, R&D, and Maintenance.
- Update in-house technical standards for mechanical equipment.
- Review of subcontractors’ detailed engineering documentation.
- Technical evaluation of vendors and vendor bids, review of vendor documentation, and vendor follow-up.
- Preparation of technical specifications, datasheets, inspection and test requirements, and material requisitions for mechanical equipment and process piping systems.
- Provide technical support and review for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors), including selection, specification, and vendor coordination.
Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur
- Higher level education with a university degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant subjects.
- Minimum 8 years’ working experience within mechanical engineering in chemicals, refining, oil & gas, or other relevant industries is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with power-to-X, syngas, green chemicals, renewable chemicals, and e-fuels technology applications is considered a strong asset.
- Engineering experience with static (focus) and rotating mechanical equipment (solid understanding), valves, pipes, and mechanical skids.
- Knowledge and experience working with statutory and international standards, such as PED, ASME, API, ISO, and the Machinery Directive is a merit, but not a strict requirement.
- Proficient in relevant design tools and software (e.g. Autodesk’s CAD or equivalent).
- Excellent written and verbal English skills. Additional languages are a plus.
