

Sous Chef á litlum veitingastað á Austfjörðum
We are seeking an ambitious and skilled sous chef to join our team at Berunes Restaurant for a full-time position during the summer, spanning 3–4 months between June and September (exact dates to be agreed upon).
In this role, you will assist in daily kitchen operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences and help make our guests feel welcome. The position requires the ability to step into the role of head chef when needed, including covering during holidays.

Main Responsibilities:
Assisting the chef in preparing and plating high-quality dishes.
Taking full responsibility for kitchen operations when the chef is off.
Waitering and welcoming guests, to ensure efficient workflow.
Handling stock management, deliveries, and kitchen prep
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
Reliable and organised individual, able to work efficiently under pressure
and has 2-3+ years of experience in similar job and kitchen
Strong customer service skills and a proactive attitude
Independent and adaptable, with great teamwork and organisational skill
Competent in English (other languages are a big bonus!)
