Mechanical Engineer

Nox Medical is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of devices and accessories across the Nox product line.

The role combines hands-on mechanical design with ownership of product improvements, verification, manufacturing support, and supplier collaboration. We are looking for someone with strong engineering fundamentals, practical design experience, and the ability to work independently in a regulated, cross-functional environment.

Function & Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design work for Nox devices and accessories

• Create, update, and release CAD models, drawings, and related design documentation with attention to tolerance, fit, material selection, and assembly process requirements.

• Support design improvements related to product robustness, manufacturability, serviceability, quality, and cost.

• Investigate mechanical issues reported from manufacturing, quality, field returns, or subcontractors, and propose corrective actions.

• Plan and execute mechanical design verification activities, including prototype evaluation, test planning, documentation, and follow-up on findings.

• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners on tooling, plastic part quality, assembly issues, DFM feedback, and implementation of approved design changes.

• Contribute to maintaining existing products while supporting new product development and next-generation product concepts.

• Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Apply design for manufacturing (DFM), particularly for plastic components

• Support supplier selection and technical discussions with external partners

• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

• Maintain thorough documentation in line with quality and regulatory standards

Qualification & Education Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 5+ years of relevant experience (medical device experience preferred)

• Experience with plastics (e.g., injection molding, material selection) is a plus

• Understanding of regulated environments (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA) is a plus

• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

• Quality mindset with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement
