
Chief Financial Officer
Kaldvik, one of Iceland’s leading salmon farmers, operating a fully integrated value chain from hatchery to harvest, is looking for a CFO to join the team. Rooted in Iceland’s rich natural landscape, the company leverages pristine aquatic environments and a strong sustainability ethics to produce high-quality salmon. Kaldvík operates across eleven locations in Iceland and produces over 120 million meals per year. The company places strong emphasis on sustainability, quality, and social responsibility.

Position Overview
The CFO will serve as a strategic and operational financial leader, responsible for safeguarding the company’s financial health, ensuring clarity through data, and supporting informed decision-making across the organization. Acting as a key partner to the Executive Management and the Board, the CFO will drive both day-to-day financial operations and long-term strategic initiatives during a period of significant growth and investment.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience from aquaculture, food production, or other asset-intensive industries, with a proven ability to manage complexity, risk, and organizational scaling.
Key responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Provide strategic, data-driven insights to the CEO and the Board.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
- Drive long-term value creation through investment strategies and capital allocation.
- Oversee accounting, payroll, treasury, FP&A, collections, tax, and audit.
- Ensure compliance with public company reporting requirements in Norway and Iceland.
- Manage liquidity, capital structure, funding, and overall financial risk.
- Lead insurance, procurement, regulatory compliance, and legal affairs.
- Oversee corporate governance, including Board documentation and entity management.
- Develop KPIs, lead due diligence processes, and build a high-performing finance team.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant financial leadership experience, including executive level responsibility.
- Strong experience with reporting and governance requirements for publicly listed companies is a significant advantage.
- Proven track record managing financial operations in growth oriented or capital intensive industries.
- Experience from aquaculture, food production, agriculture, or similar sectors is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical abilities with strong skills in translating data into strategic insight.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including with investors, analysts, and Board members.
- High integrity, strategic mindset, and a hands-on approach when required.
