Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor (Civil Construction)

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to support a wide range of civil construction projects—including buildings, bridges, power plants, and infrastructure—across Iceland. This hybrid role combines site surveying, quantity measurement, data processing, and commercial reporting. This makes it ideal for an individual with solid experience in site surveying, strong computer skills, and the ability to adopt new technical solutions in a practical way.

  • Perform field surveys using GNSS, Total Station, and UAV (drone) platforms
  • Set out civil and structural works including utilities, roads, and foundations
  • Generate, maintain, and verify control networks
  • Conduct aerial scans using drones and LiDAR and process datasets into terrain models and point clouds
  • Create and manage 3D models for Trimble and Leica machine control systems
  • Ensure surveying output aligns with design intent and construction progress
  • Carry out accurate quantity measurements and stakeouts for progress tracking and invoicing
  • Produce quantity reports for internal use and client approval
  • Support interim and final valuations based on measured works and site progress
  • Track and document variations, changes, and as-built quantities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with project managers and site engineers to ensure financial control and quantity transparency
  • Integrate survey and quantity data into VDC/BIM platforms and workflows
  • Contribute to 4D/5D planning, visualizations, and digital handover deliverables
  • Ensure models and spatial data align with real-world conditions and project requirements
Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur
  • Degree or diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil construction projects
  • Proven experience with Trimble and/or Leica systems and model creation for machine control
  • Proficiency in photogrammetry and LiDAR data processing from drones
  • Familiarity with Icelandic construction practices and site logistics
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Valid Icelandic or EU driver’s license and ability to travel across project sites
  • Experience with BIM/VDC coordination and 4D/5D modeling
  • Strong understanding of contract measurement and invoicing workflows
  • Ability to work independently in demanding site environments
  • Ability to thrive in complex and fast-paced project environments, maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, capable of working independently across diverse locations and conditions throughout Iceland
