Your Friend in Reykjavík (YFIR) is looking for a reliable, calm, and service-minded Whisper & Service Agent to join our operations team in Iceland.

We are hiring quickly and aim to finalise this position before the end of the month. The successful candidate must be available to start immediately.

This is a hands-on operational role combining office coordination, field execution, equipment handling, and daily service support.

About the Role

As Whisper & Service Agent, you will work closely with our Operations Manager and play a key role in ensuring daily service and operations run smoothly and reliably.

The role includes:

Whisper Operations

• Storing, charging, testing, and preparing Whisper audio systems

• Maintaining accurate inventory and equipment condition

• Delivering and collecting Whisper systems at tour start and end points

• Acting as first-line contact for Whisper-related operational matters

• Assisting in training guides on proper system use

Service & Operations Support

• Answering operational phone calls and emails

• Supporting guides and travelers with practical questions

• Coordinating daily logistics and transport

• Escalating issues appropriately when needed

The position is primarily office-based in Reykjavík, with regular deliveries and pickups as part of the role.

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• Based in Reykjavík

• Valid driving licence

• Comfortable with physical work (lifting, carrying, driving)

• Calm, organised, and dependable

• Confident interacting with guides, partners, and travelers

• Available to start immediately

Preferred Experience (Strong Advantage)

• Experience working in the tourism industry

• Experience using Bókun booking software or similar reservation systems

• Extended driving licence (e.g. passenger transport categories)

Tourism and booking system experience will allow you to integrate faster into our daily operations, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
