Reception Manager at Flóra Hotels

At Flóra Hotels, we believe that great hospitality starts with great people!

We are looking for an experienced Reception Manager to lead our reception team. This is a key leadership role responsible for setting structure, maintaining service standards and ensuring the team delivers consistent, professional service across all locations.

The centralized Flóra Hotels reception is located at Reykjavík Residence hotel. In addition to servicing Reykjavík Residence hotel at Vatnsstígur, the reception also operates at;

  • Tower Suites at Katrínartún (On site)
  • ODDSSON Downtown hotel at Háteigsvegur (Off site)
  • ODDSSON Midtown hotel at Grensásvegur (Off site)



This role requires an organised and hands-on leader who takes responsibility, makes decisions and follows through.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and develop the reception team, ensuring clear expectations and consistent service standards.

  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, payroll coordination and administrative management.

  • Develop, implement and maintain efficient procedures and operational frameworks.

  • Handle complex guest matters with professionalism.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth overall hotel operations.

  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has excellent English skills (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.

  • Has previous experience in a management or supervisory role within hospitality.

  • Has a strong understanding of reception operations and service excellence.

  • Communicates clearly, sets expectations and follows through.

  • Is highly organised, structured and comfortable making decisions.

  • Has strong administrative skills and a keen eye for detail.

  • Builds trust within the team while maintaining accountability and clear standards.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and remains solution-oriented under pressure.

  • Takes initiative and solves problems with a positive attitude.

  • Is comfortable adopting new technologies and keeping up with ongoing digital and system developments within hotel operations.
