Staðsett á Suðausturlandi, staður sem þekktur er fyrir stórbrotið landslag og jöklasýn, er Hótel Klaustur, sem opnaði fyrst dyrnar árið 1993. Hótelið dregur nafn sitt eins og gefur til kynna af bænum Kirkjubæjarklaustri sem oftast er kallað Klaustur af heimamönnum. Bærinn stendur við hringveginn á milli tveggja þekktustu jökla Íslands, Vatnajökuls og Mýrdalsjökuls. Á Hótel Klaustri bjóðum við upp á 57 herbergi sem skiptast í 36 Standard herbergi, 20 Superior herbergi og eina svítu. Herbergin eru mismunandi í stærð og fara úr því að vera 16 m2 í 42 m2. Öll herbergin eru búin þægilegum rúmum, hitakerfi, einkabaðherbergi og sturtu og/eða baðkari. Front Desk Agent – Long-Term Position Hotel Klaustur | Kirkjubæjarklaustur, South Iceland

Hotel Klaustur is seeking a professional and service-oriented Front Desk Agent to join our team on a long-term basis. This position offers the opportunity to work in an international hospitality environment while delivering high-quality guest experiences in one of Iceland’s most remarkable locations.

Located in the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, surrounded by some of Iceland’s most iconic natural attractions, Hotel Klaustur is a 4-star hotel known for its personal service, professional standards, and authentic Icelandic hospitality.

Helstu verkefni og ábyrgð

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests, ensuring a professional and warm first impression of the hotel
- Manage check-in and check-out procedures using the hotel’s PMS system
- Handle guest registration accurately, including room allocation, number of guests and correct pricing
- Provide accurate information about the hotel, services and local attractions in the area
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries, phone calls and emails in a professional manner
- Assist with the reservation process and coordinate with the reservations department when required
- Process payments, credit card authorizations and cash handling, ensuring accuracy in daily reports
- Post charges to guest rooms and relevant accounts through the PMS system
- Code and issue electronic room keys
- Coordinate with housekeeping, restaurant and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations
- Resolve guest concerns or complaints professionally and efficiently, ensuring high guest satisfaction
- Promote the hotel and support upselling initiatives in accordance with the hotel’s sales and marketing strategy
- Maintain strong knowledge of local attractions and travel opportunities in South Iceland
- Follow all hotel standards, operational procedures and house rules

Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur

Previous experience working in a hotel front desk or reception is required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Fluent English is required; additional languages are highly desirable
Organized, reliable and able to work independently
Positive attitude with strong teamwork abilities
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
