Director of Business Development – Iceland

The Role

As Director of Business Development for Iceland, you will be the person Icelandic customers and prospects rely on to transform their HR operations with automation and AI.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role that combines customer success, technical solution building, and market growth. You will start by mastering how to make customers successful, then take responsibility for expanding and strengthening 50skills in Iceland.

You need to be technically strong and comfortable building workflows, while also being someone customers genuinely enjoy working with.

Your core mission is simple: make customers wildly successful. By deeply understanding their operations, building automated workflows with them, and uncovering value they did not know was possible, you will lay the foundation for long-term growth in the Icelandic market.

What Success Looks Like

In Your First 3 Months

You will:

  • Become fully fluent in the 50skills platform and learn to build automated HR processes
  • Meet with existing customers, understand their operations, and help them unlock more value
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions to build and optimize workflows
  • Create Iceland-specific templates, onboarding materials, and help content
  • Develop deep insight into HR challenges and solve problems live in the platform
  • Start building relationships within the Icelandic HR community

Within 6 Months

You will:

  • Be the trusted point of contact for Icelandic customers
  • Improve and standardize our onboarding experience with repeatable playbooks
  • Build a strong library of Iceland-specific automation templates
  • Establish yourself in the Icelandic HR and operations community through events, content, and referrals
  • Close multiple new customers through outreach, marketing initiatives, referrals, and your growing reputation
  • Create repeatable processes for acquisition and expansion
  • Strengthen long-term customer relationships that drive retention and growth

Within 12 Months

You will:

  • Own Iceland’s revenue across customer success, new business, and expansion
  • Significantly grow the Icelandic customer base and revenue
  • Be the person customers and prospects ask for by name
  • Build complex workflows that solve meaningful operational problems and save substantial time
  • Influence the evolution of the 50skills product based on market insights
  • Confidently onboard organizations ranging from startups to large enterprises
  • Establish the operational foundation for how 50skills wins in Iceland, from first conversation to long-term success

  • Drive growth and retention by deeply understanding customer operations
  • Run working sessions to build, improve, and expand workflows
  • Design automated HR processes that eliminate manual work
  • Provide high-quality consultation on streamlining HR processes with 50skills
  • Create valuable content such as templates, guides, and best practices
  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships

Market Growth and Business Development

  • Own the business development strategy for Iceland
  • Identify, engage, and close new customers
  • Guide prospects through demos and solution discussions
  • Organize events, webinars, campaigns, and customer stories
  • Build repeatable processes for acquisition and expansion

Technical Discovery and Solutioning

  • Lead in-depth discovery sessions to uncover real operational challenges
  • Configure tailored demo environments that show clear business value
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and customer success
  • Represent 50skills at events, workshops, and meetings
  • Share insights from the Icelandic market to help improve the product and support Nordic expansion

  • Excellent communication skills with genuine empathy
