

ACCOMMODATION MANAGER - HOTEL
South Iceland | Full-time | 5 days/week
A well-established 130 room hotel in South Iceland is looking for an Accommodation Manager to lead our rooms and common areas cleaning team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the full operational and logistical management of our accommodation department - ensuring that every guest room and shared spaces are cleaned and delivered to the expected standard (measured by time & quality).
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines daily operational supervision with strategic planning, team development, and process improvement.
The position is a long term role and is expected to begin before June 2026.
What You Will Do
- Lead, organise, and motivate a multicultural English speaking housekeeping team
- Define and monitor KPIs focused on efficiency, quality, and turnaround time
- Develop and implement cleaning protocols, including deep cleaning procedures
- Coordinate daily workload distribution and adapt team deployment in real time
- Manage supplies, logistics, and equipment
- Foster a culture of autonomous, responsible, and high-quality work
- Report to senior management and coordinate with other departments
- Oversee training and onboarding for new employees
- Support the team in a hands-on capacity when needed
What Experience You Have
- Previous experience in management positions ideally in housekeeping or accommodation management in a hotel setting
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, standards & stock management
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage and motivate a team
- Able to work independently
- Strategic mindset - able to anticipate operational challenges before they arise
- Results-driven: focused on efficiency, quality, and meeting deadlines consistently
- Excellent communication skills - fluent English (written and spoken) is required
- Organised, adaptable, and calm under pressure
- Skilled in software usage, using it to facilitate and improve working efficiency - e.g. hotel management systems like Godo/Sweeply/Excel
Working Schedule
- Shift based: 8 hour work days, 5 days a week average
