Restaurant Shift Leader & Waiter - Borg Restaurant
Borg Restaurant (within Hotel Borg) is hiring 1 shift leader & 1 waiter to join our team either for the summer or long-term. A flexible position for working at events is also available on a very random basis. A full description of each position is explained below.
We have a bar & small restaurant space that hosts both locals & hotel guests (tourists) for dinner & drinks, & we also collaborate with a local tour company to host tourists on a food tour that visit our restaurant regularly. We also have a large events space for private parties & other events.
Shift leader: 2-2-3 pattern 15:00-23:00 on weekdays & 11:00-23:00 on weekends. The ideal cadidate is confident operating a simple bar menu, is approachable and friendly for both customers & colleagues, enjoys customer service and feels confident making decisions on how to run the shift.

--Checking Dineout to see incoming bookings and to understand how to set-up the restaurant.
--Plan how you want to organise the flow of the shift with your waiter.
--Do an inventory overview of the bar to understand what is available to sell on the shift, and update the system with any missing items that needs to be ordered.
--The shift leader is responsible for the bar, but is not expected to be a bartender/mixologist. Our bar menu is simple and classic, and the shift leader will be the main host in the bar but will also step out onto the floor to assist the waiter.
--Leading the shift: analyzing how the shift is going & delegate tasks to the waiter(s)
--Assist waiter(s) & ensure they are carrying out their assigned tasks correctly
--Time management: understanding what needs to be completed and managing the tasks within the allocated time, i.e. if the waiter needs to leave at 22:00 then ensuring that they are on top of their closing tasks.
--Closing the shift: closing Dineout sales, cleaning & resetting the bar, ensuring that the restaurant is ready for the morning shift (a lot of this is done by the waiter).
No managerial duties are required from the shift leader. The General Manager will take care of shift plans, admin duties (like emails & orders) etc.

Ideally you have waitering experience and are willing to learn new things with a small but fun team.
