VFX Artist

CCP are seeking a VFX Artist to join the EVE Frontier team in our Reykjavík studio, Iceland.

You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and implementing high-quality real-time visual effects in our proprietary CARBON engine, bringing the vast universe of EVE: Frontier to life with impact and atmosphere.

This is an on-site position based in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Your Tasks:

• Design and create real-time visual effects for gameplay, environments, and cinematics.
• Implement and optimize VFX in the CARBON engine using in-house tools and shader systems.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers to ensure effects enhance clarity, mood, and player experience.
• Prototype new techniques and workflows to push the visual quality of EVE: Frontier.
• Maintain performance budgets across multiple platforms without compromising visual fidelity.
• Document pipelines, tools, and best practices for VFX creation.
• Contribute creative ideas to expand the visual identity of the EVE Universe.

Your Profile:

• Previous experience as a VFX Artist in the videogame industry with at least 1 shipped title.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating real-time VFX, including particle systems, shaders, and dynamic simulations.
• Proficiency with commercial or proprietary game engines & pipelines.
• Good understanding of performance optimization and technical constraints in real-time rendering.
• Familiarity with DCC tools such as Houdini, Maya, or Blender.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills.
• Passion for science fiction and interest in the EVE Universe is a plus.
