Newrest -General Accountant

Newrest Iceland is looking for a motivated candidate for a temporary Junior General Accountant position in our accounting department for spring/summer 2025.

Newrest is placed at Keflavík International Airport.

Helstu verkefni og ábyrgð

Under the supervision of the Chief Accountant and CFO, you will be in charge of the following tasks:
- Coordinate day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing and posting daily/monthly journal entries while maintaining proper supporting schedules, documentation and appropriate levels of approval.
- Suppliers and customers invoice booking in the accounting software.
- Financial transactions and reconciliation.
- Assisting in month-end tasks.
- Complete other projects/assignments as directed by the CFO
- Regular, timely and predictable attendance is required for this position.

Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or similar.
Experience in accounting work is preferred but not required.
Effective time management skills and ability to maintain clear timelines, follow through and complete tasks.
Fluent in English.

CONTRACT: Short-term contract 4 – 5 months - Starting date May 2025

LOCATION: 50 min from downtown Reykjavik at Keflavik International Airport
