Tech Lead – Travel

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to take on the Tech Lead role on our Travel Product Team.

The team improves the passenger experience from booking to arrival at the destination by building solutions that simplify processes, provide real-time information, enable self-service, and increase operational efficiency.

As Tech Lead, you will own the technical direction and solution integrity, working closely with product managers, engineers, and QA to deliver reliable, high-quality experiences across web and mobile.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical architecture and full solution lifecycle across web, mobile, services, APIs, and integrations
  • Drive technical decisions from discovery to delivery and operations, ensuring scalability, quality
  • Stay hands-on where it matters most, contributing to key parts of the solution
  • Champion AI-assisted development and guide its effective use within the team
  • Mentor and support engineers, helping the team make strong technical decisions and take ownership
  • Evaluate new initiatives, assess feasibility and complexity, and translate product goals into clear technical plans
  • Set and maintain engineering standards across code quality, testing, CI/CD, and operational readiness
  • Ensure systems are reliable, resilient, and continuously improving

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience across frontend and backend
  • Proven technical leadership or ownership (e.g. architecture, service ownership, leading designs, mentoring engineers)
  • Experience building consumer-facing digital products end-to-end
  • Experience in aviation or travel is a plus

Technical skills

  • Strong full-stack development experience
  • Experience with React and Next.js; React Native for mobile is a plus
  • Backend experience with modern languages and services
  • Solid understanding of modern architecture and engineering practices
  • Experience with travel APIs (e.g. Amadeus) is a plus

Ways of working

  • Product mindset, with focus on outcomes and end-to-end ownership
  • Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Able to document and communicate technical solutions clearly

Leadership & communication

  • Able to mentor engineers and explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with external partners and vendors on integrations

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
