Seasonal Kitchen Assistants

Adventure Hotel Hellissandur is looking for kitchen assistants for the hotel restaurant. The hotel is located on the beautiful Snæfellsnes Peninsula, 200 km from Reykjavík, with its 20 rooms, restaurant, and bar. Accommodation is available onsite or in the surrounding area.

The seasonal position as kitchen assistant is full-time, from July to the end of September.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Helping the chef prepare meals.
Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean, tidy, and hygienic.
Dishwashing and washing and making sure that they are stored appropriately.
Sorting, storing, and distributing ingredients.
Washing, peeling chopping, and cutting fruit, vegetables, and meat, and helping to prepare salads and desserts.

Educational and skill requirements

Efficiency, organized, and tidiness.
Good communication skills and fluency in English.
Knowledge of Icelandic and Icelandic cuisine is an advantage.
Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and national holidays.
