Newrest Iceland is looking for a driven leader as a HR Manager. If you are an experienced HR professional seeking an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major project in the aviation catering industry, we invite you to join our dynamic team.

The HR Manager takes full responsibility for handling the Human resources for Newrest Iceland representing over 200 employees.

Newrest is located at Keflavík airport.

Helstu verkefni og ábyrgð
  • HR management: Responsibility for the entire employee lifecycle – from recruitment to departure
  • Recruitment: Planning and implementation of job advertisements, interviews and onboarding processes. Lead recruitment based on operational needs. Set up employee contracts and prepare legal documents
  • Employee support: Contact person for all HR-related questions and advising managers on employment law issues
  • Personnel development: Identification of training needs and organization of further training measures to promote employee skills
  • HR strategy: Developing and implementing strategies to promote the corporate culture and goals
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with labor law requirements and internal guidelines
  • Social and legal affairs: representing the company and its employees, and managing disputes. Contact person with unions and SA regarding HR affairs
  • HR administration: Managing and maintaining personnel files, contracts and payroll in collaboration with the payroll processing company
  • Reporting: Creating HR reports and KPIs to analyze and optimize HR processes
  • Assist the General Manager and management team in HR functions: administration, labour law, relations, training, recruitment, payroll, and benefits
  • HR systems: Manage H3, MTP time clock tools, 50 skills and other HR tools

  • Practical higher education that aligns with job-specific tasks and responsibilities
  • Extensive human resources experience
  • Demonstrated autonomy in HR management
  • Sound knowledge of Icelandic labor law and payroll accounting
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and empathy
  • Ability to think strategically and implement operationally
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
