Laki Power

Senior Software Engineer

Laki Power, based in Reykjavík, develops a range of LKX products for monitoring high-voltage transmission lines, built on a patented power-harvesting technology that draws energy from the line. We have customers across four continents and closed a Series A round in September 2026 led by the NATO Innovation Fund.

We’re looking for a versatile senior full-stack engineer, strong on the frontend, to join our small development team, own our web applications and share responsibility for the system’s architecture.

Laki Analytics Studio is the platform that brings data from our field devices to our customers: grid operators who run critical infrastructure. Our devices sit on high-voltage lines in remote, demanding environments, capturing measurements, images and video around the clock; Analytics Studio turns that stream into a clear picture of each line that operators can act on. You’ll build it with TypeScript, React and Next.js on Go services, and shape its architecture together with our lead developer.

Helstu verkefni og ábyrgð
  • Lead development of our customer-facing monitoring app.
  • Build features end to end, from the user interface to the API.
  • Shape the system’s architecture together with the lead developer, and document the decisions.
  • Turn product requirements into technical plans and well-scoped pieces of work.
  • Review code, raise the standard of testing and build secure software for customers who run critical infrastructure.
Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur
  • 8+ years of professional software development.
  • Expert in TypeScript and React, with solid production experience of Next.js, including server-side rendering.
  • Experience building accessible, data-heavy interfaces.
  • Experience with automated testing as a core development practice, including unit, component, and end-to-end tests.
  • Experience with REST APIs, relational databases, and SQL, and a willingness to learn Go.
  • Experience as a technical lead or software architect, designing solutions across frontend, APIs, and data layers, with the ability to document architectural decisions and evaluate trade-offs.
  • Proven experience building applications with high security requirements: secure design, the OWASP Top 10, authentication, authorization and tenant isolation.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership, while being a strong team player.
  • Ability to communicate in English in a professional setting.
  • Experience running Go services in production, along with hands-on DevOps expertise in containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD, is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in critical infrastructure, energy, or other regulated sectors, with familiarity with relevant cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., NIS2, IEC 62443, ISO 27001), is an advantage.
