Part time teacher of mathematics - paternity cover

The International Department of Landakotsskóli is seeking a qualified mathematics teacher to teach the Cambridge International mathematics curriculum from 8th grade up to and including the IGCSE exams at the end of 10th grade. The position is temporary, covering a paternity leave and is expected to run from January 2026 – May 2026.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with experience teaching mathematics at an advanced level. This is a 74% post.

Landakotsskóli is an independent compulsory school for grades 1–10, with an additional department for five-year-olds as well as an after-school program. Around 360 students attend the school, across two departments: an Icelandic department which follows the Icelandic national curriculum and an international department where teaching takes place in English and follows the Cambridge International Curriculum. About 50 teachers with diverse backgrounds work at the school, along with 30 other staff members. We are seeking someone who would thrive in this diverse cultural environment.
