Operation and Maintenance Engineer

You will be joining the growing team of Operations at Carbfix. In your role, you will be responsible for safe and efficient operations; implementing, simplifying, and automating processes. You will play a crucial role in performing regular inspections, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for equipment and systems.

The right person for the role enjoys a fast-paced growing environment, is solution minded, forward-looking and sees opportunities to use technology and automation tools when implementing new processes and systems. The role requires analytical thinking, precision and problem-solving skills, as well as a positive mindset on health and safety.

The position is located on-site in Iceland.

Key responsibilities
  • Operation, maintenance and monitoring of Carbfix's capture and injection systems.
  • Support the development and commissioning of injection sites.
  • Collaborate in implementing and operating an Asset and Maintenance system.
  • Participate in the planning of operational procedures for Carbfix.
  • Conduct risk assessments in projects.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with other Carbfix departments.
Skills and Attributes
  • Education in mechanical/marine engineering or mechanical technology.
  • A journeyman's certificate in mechanics and/or electrical engineering is an advantage.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of systems (e.g., power plants, aluminum plants, marine engineering).
  • Experience with maintenance software.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Positivity, customer service mindset, and agility in communication.
  • Initiative and ability to embrace new innovations.
  • Excellent proficiency in Icelandic and English.
