Infrastructure & Security Engineer

As our systems scale and our data footprint grows, we're looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Security Engineer to take charge of our cloud infrastructure, backend scalability, and security posture.

You’ll work closely with our backend, data, and app teams to ensure our systems are secure, performant, and ready for the next phase of growth.

This role is based in Reykjavík and reports to our CTO who is also based in Reykjavík. We work hybrid and collaborate across timezones with our international development team.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and evolve our infrastructure — design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure (we use AWS: ECS, S3, CodePipeline, etc.)
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines — increase deployment velocity, confidence, and automation
  • Strengthen platform security — identify risks, fix vulnerabilities, enforce best practices, and lead internal security audits
  • Collaborate with developers — support backend/API performance, scalability, and reliability (Laravel, Python and more)
  • Implement monitoring and incident response — set up tools to track performance, detect anomalies, and handle outages (we use Sentry for error tracking)
  • Drive compliance efforts — assist in GDPR/security reviews and help us stay audit-ready

Tech Stack

  • Cloud: AWS (ECS, S3, CodePipeline, Lambda, Glue)
  • Data: Aurora, Redshift, S3 for file management
  • Backend: Laravel, Node.js
  • Frontend: Vue.js
  • Monitoring: Sentry, with room to expand observability

Experience with equivalent tools is absolutely fine — we’re looking for adaptability, not checklists.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or backend engineering
  • Strong knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation)
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CodePipeline, etc.)
  • Comfortable with backend languages such as Node.js, PHP (Laravel), or Python
  • Solid understanding of cloud and application security principles
  • Familiar with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of logging, alerting, and monitoring systems

Why Join Us?

  • Make an impact in a company supporting thousands of artists worldwide
  • Own mission-critical systems that power our core platform
  • Work hybrid from Reykjavík, with flexibility across timezones
  • Small, collaborative team with strong product focus
  • Competitive salary and benefits
