Landhelgisgæsla Íslands óskar eftir að ráða vélfræðing/vélstjóra/vélvirkja til starfa á Öryggissvæði B Keflavíkurflugvelli.

Leitað er að áhugasömum einstaklingi til að annast rekstur varaaflsvéla, viðhald á tækjum og búnaði. Viðkomandi þarf að vera árangursmiðaður, sýna frumkvæði og geta tekist á við krefjandi verkefni.

Starfsstöðin er hjá Landhelgisgæslunni, á öryggissvæðunum þ.m.t. á Keflavíkurflugvelli og á ratsjár- og fjarskiptastöðvunum (Miðnesheiði, Bolafjalli, Gunnólfsvíkurfjalli og Stokksnesi).

Helstu verkefni:

• Daglegt viðhald og eftirlit með tækjum, kerfum og búnaði mannvirkja
• Skýrslugerð og fleira tengt rekstrinum
• Umsjón og eftirlit með verktökum

Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur:

• Vélfræðingur, vélstjóri, vélvirki eða önnur sambærileg menntun
• Staðgóð þekking á varaaflsbúnaði, kælikerfum, eldvarnakerfum og rafmagnsbúnaði
• Framúrskarandi samskipta- og samstarfshæfni
• Frumkvæði, jákvæðni og lausnarmiðað viðhorf
• Ökuréttindi og vinnuvélapróf
• Góð íslensku- og enskukunnátta

Umsækjendur þurfa að standast kröfur Landhelgisgæslunnar um líkamlegt og andlegt atgervi. Einnig skal starfsfólk uppfylla skilyrði fyrir öryggisheimild samanber varnarmálalög nr. 34/2008 og reglugerð nr. 959/2012.

Mechanical engineer, marine engineer, or mechanical technician.

The Icelandic Coast Guard is looking to hire a mechanical engineer/marine engineer/mechanical technician to work in Security Area B at Keflavík Airport.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to manage backup power generators, maintain equipment and machinery, and perform related tasks. The ideal candidate must be results-oriented, show initiative, and be able to handle demanding tasks.

The workplace is with the Icelandic Coast Guard, operating within security areas, including Keflavík Airport and radar and communication stations (Miðnesheiði, Bolafjall, Gunnólfsvíkurfjall, and Stokksnes).

Main Responsibilities:

• Daily maintenance and monitoring of equipment, building infrastructure, and systems
• Reporting and other tasks related to operations
• Supervision and monitoring of contractors

Education and Skills Requirements:

• Degree in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, mechanical technician, or other equivalent education
• Solid knowledge of backup power systems, cooling systems, fire prevention systems, and electrical equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Initiative, positivity, and a solution-oriented mindset
• Valid driver’s license and certification for operating heavy machinery
• Proficiency in Icelandic and English

Applicants must meet the Icelandic Coast Guard’s physical and mental fitness requirements. Employees must also qualify for security clearance in accordance with the Defense Act No. 34/2008 and Regulation No. 959/2012.
