Technical Design Coordinator

Borealis Data Center is seeking a Technical Design Coordinator to oversee and manage the design aspects of the construction and expansion of our innovative, efficient and sustainable data center facilities and services throughout Scandinavia.

About the Role

The Technical Design Coordinator reports to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and will be part of the growing Design, Build and Maintain group in Borealis. Under the guidance and leadership of the CDO, the Technical Design Coordinator will be part of the project design engineering process for all our data center construction and expansion projects, from initiation to completion.

May be required to travel to the various sites for shorter or longer periods of time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments and technical assessments for new projects.
  • Assist with the creation of high-level project definitions, budgets, and plans to facilitate project approvals and kick-off with Borealis Management.
  • Oversee the creation of design documentation, drawings, specifications, and reports across all construction and expansion projects tailored to the project criteria.
  • Working collaboratively with the various designers and engineers involved in the process.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Operations, IT, Compliance, and Finance to present design concepts and progress updates to ensure all designs align with Borealis requirements.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures for all design outputs.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation.
  • Generate regular reports on design progress, risks, and issues.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, experience with 3D BIM modelling software such as Revit is a plus.
  • Understanding of sustainability and green building practices.
  • A pro-active “can do” mentality, thriving in complex, dynamic situations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
