

Supply Chain Manager
Newrest Group, one of the world's leading companies in the operation of flight kitchens, is taking over the operation of Icelandair's flight kitchen. Newrest handles, among other things, the production of meals on board Icelandair, SAS, Delta, United Airlines and Air Canada flights.
We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Iceland.
Reporting to the Deputy Unit Manager, you will efficiently manage the Supply chain at site level. Ensuring that all activities meet or exceed agreed service levels and comply with the written processes and policies of the company.
- As Supply Chain Manager you will report hierarchically to the Deputy Unit Manager. You will be in charge to supervise the Supply Chain at site level and organize & train all Newrest staff to improve constantly the Supply Chain (KPI tracking, with high expectations in this area) and ensure logistics, procurement & purchasing with group standards & clients’ requirements, to provide excellent standards of delivery service to maximize client enjoyment of products, in compliance with specified loading and handling requirements, to ensure the site and its assets are safe and secure at all times and well maintained.
Job Responsibilites and Activities:
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Purchasing
- Define a strategy between local and import purchasing
- Competitive bidding through calls for tender, defining the frequency according to the context
- Ensure the best offer in terms of quality, price and availability
- Keep abreast of global and local markets
- Negotiate rebates
- Check that specifications are respected
- Settle supplier disputes
- Take part in purchasing optimization via the zone
- Monitor and analyze purchasing performance KPIs
Logistics
- Supervise the maintenance of refrigerated fleet and optimize their availability
- Ensure flow tracking
- Ongoing liaison with customer logistics for loading/unloading operations
- Make proposals for equipment rental and investment if necessary
- Manage the planning of logistical resources (trucks, light vehicles, containers, etc.)
- Optimization of maintenance costs
- Procurement on site
Warehouse
- Responsibility for proper management of monthly inventories
- Implementation and monitoring of barrier processes
- Responsible for the stock
- Goods receipt with quantity/quality control, inventories, loading
IT management
- Rationalization of the number of lines in the purchase book
- Follow-up of purchase book process
- Ensure that all accounting processes via Winrest are in place
- Close each month in accordance with Group processes (validation of reconciliation with Operations and Finance, settlement of disputes).
HACCP
- All internal processes must comply with HACCP processes, in collaboration with the QHSE department.
- Spontaneous supplier audits
- In close collaboration with the QHSE department
Management
- Management of the warehouse and purchasing team
- Responsible for the overall performance of the supply chain on site
- Resource planning in regards with the Operations and Budget line,
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Deputy Unit Manager.
- The ability to always be an effective ambassador for the organization
- Ensure a good social climate in the department
Education and Qualification:
Competences:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with strong attention to detail (from purchasing)
- Strong ability to meet all deadlines in an organized and timely manner
- Interest for IT system
- Knowledge of HACCP
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience Purchasing / warehouse management,
- Previous experience in food industry sector is a plus,
- Demonstrated success managing new initiatives while meeting operating and budgetary requirements.
Skills:
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to do accurate forecasting
- Good oral and verbal English skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment
- Excel software and reporting skills
