Senior AI Engineer

CCP Games is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to help build and shape our AI capabilities inside EVE Online.

This is a high-impact role with significant ownership. You will join a small, experienced team that is already delivering meaningful AI-driven work across CCP, spanning data science, machine learning, and production systems. The platform is still forming, and you will play a key role in shaping it from the inside.

The team combines strong data science foundations, including player behaviour modelling, early value detection, and churn and lifecycle insights, with growing investment in production-grade AI systems. Your work will have a direct, measurable impact, helping shape how AI influences real decisions in the game and supporting experiments that affect players in meaningful ways.

We are looking for someone comfortable working across the boundary between data science and software engineering, equally at home working with data and models and building robust software to bring them into real use.

The role can be located in Reykjavik or London, and relocation to Reykjavik or remote work is possible for the right candidate.

Your Tasks:

• Build and productionize AI and ML solutions across player analytics, game systems, and internal tools
• Work hands-on across the stack: data exploration, feature engineering, modelling, and software integration
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and game teams to turn insights into shipped capabilities
• Design and implement AI services, pipelines, and APIs that can evolve over time
• Help define how AI is developed, evaluated, deployed, and operated at CCP
• Take ownership of projects from early idea through production and iteration, including AI features with measurable impact
• Participate in building online entertainment for the masses

Your Profile:

• MSc degree (or equivalent through work) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience across AI, machine learning, and/or data science
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience building production-quality software
• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and practical model evaluation
• Good understanding of SQL and data analysis
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and modern ML tooling
• Enjoys ambiguity and building things that do not yet have a perfect shape
• Pragmatic, curious, and motivated by impact rather than hype
