Project Manager for OpenEU / Verkefnastjóri fyrir OpenEU
Bifröst University is seeking a full-time Project Manager (Local Coordinator) to steer our OpenEU project. If you are a results-driven leader with a passion for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, this could be the ideal role for you. Bifröst University operates from two locations: Reykjavík and Hvanneyri.

Key Responsibilties
- Design and oversee initiatives focused on community engagement, stakeholder interaction, and enhancing student wellbeing and employability across the OpenEU alliance.
- Manage and coordinate projects associated with the OpenEU Virtual Community Campus and Joint Participatory Platform, collaborating closely with partner institutions.
- Facilitate communication and partnerships between universities, local communities, businesses, and government entities to ensure project success.
- Monitor and report on project objectives, managing timelines, resources, and budgets while providing regular updates to senior management and partner teams.
- Design and implement projects that provide students with career development opportunities, internships, and skills training programs.
- Develop strategies to connect students and educators with local and regional communities, promoting lifelong learning and social impact.
- Collaborate with academic leaders to integrate cutting-edge digital tools and pedagogical practices into distance education programs.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, for example in business, social sciences, humanities, or education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably within higher education, non-profit, or community-focused settings.
- Knowledge of European higher education systems and distance learning is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of learning management systems and other teaching technologies.
- Proven experience in international work environments and/or collaborations.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, multicultural team environment.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Good understanding of written and spoken Icelandic.
