International primary English/Global Perspectives teacher

The International Department of Landakotsskóli is seeking to employ a teacher of first language English and Global Perspectives to teach between 50 and 100% of the time in our upper primary level classes (grades 4 and/or 5). The International Department teaches in English and follows the Cambridge International Curriculum.

The ideal candidate will hold a full teaching certification for Iceland or another country and have the right to live and work in Iceland. They will have native speaker level English competence and experience of teaching English to primary aged students. We are looking to hire as soon as possible.

Landakotsskóli is unique in that we run two parallel departments, an Icelandic department and the International Department, with students following different curriculums but coming together for creative projects and recreation times. We seek staff who will embrace and promote the culturally diverse educational environment offered in our school.

This post is initially until the end of this academic year (June 2025) and there may be ongoing opportunities.
