GMT is an EASA Part-145 approved maintenance organization providing line maintenance support across multiple stations. We are looking for a Compliance & Safety Manager to lead our independent compliance monitoring function and manage our Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring continued regulatory compliance, strong safety performance, and effective continuous improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Compliance Monitoring (Part-145 / MOE)
- Implement and maintain an independent compliance monitoring system to ensure ongoing compliance and adequacy of GMT procedures and activities against EASA Part-145 and the MOE.
- Develop, plan, and deliver a risk-based audit programme (procedures and product/maintenance output), including across line stations and subcontracted activities.
- Organize and conduct audits, produce clear audit reports, and ensure findings are communicated to responsible managers.
- Request, coordinate, and follow up corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)—including escalation to the Accountable Manager when required—and verify effectiveness to closure.
- Monitor and control MOE amendments, propose improvements, and coordinate submissions/approvals with the competent authority where required.
- Draft and maintain procedures for the Compliance Monitoring System, including oversight, reporting, and effectiveness tracking.
- Prepare and submit procedure deviation requests to authorities and manage associated implementation controls.
- Approve maintenance instructions created by GMT from approved data, ensuring correct technical data usage and control.
Safety Management (SMS)
- Coordinate action on airworthiness occurrences, ensuring reporting, follow-up, and corrective actions are managed effectively.
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk mitigation tracking via the safety action plan.
- Support and/or lead investigations using recognized root cause analysis methodologies and ensure learnings are embedded into procedures and training.
- Provide periodic safety performance reports to management/Safety Review Board and ensure SMS documentation remains current and effective.
- Ensure safety training is available and meets acceptable standards; integrate feedback from incidents and operational events into the recurrent training programme.
Staff Records & Authorizations
- Manage and store certifying staff files, ensuring required evidence of competence, training and experience is current.
- Create, update and issue individual certifying staff authorizations in accordance with Part-145 and GMT procedures.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in the aeronautical industry in an appropriate role.
- Practical experience applying Compliance Monitoring Systems and Safety Management Systems in an aviation maintenance environment.
- Completed Compliance Monitoring / Internal Auditor training (SMS training is an advantage).
- Comprehensive knowledge of:
- EASA Part-145 and associated requirements
- MOE structure and procedural governance
- Interfaces with Part-66 and Part-CAMO/M (as applicable)
- Knowledge/experience in:
- Occurrence investigation and root cause analysis
- Hazard identification and risk management
- Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety and EWIS
- Strong written and spoken English (Icelandic/other languages are an advantage).
- Able to work independently with strong structure, integrity, and clear communication with regulators and management.
