LungA-skólinn á Seyðisfirði óskar eftir að ráða framkvæmdarstjóra í 50% starf.
LungA-skólinn er sjálfstæð stofnun, rekin af listamönnum á Seyðisfirði. Hann var stofnaður árið 2013. Hann er tilraunakenndur listaskóli og starfar samkvæmt lögum um lýðskóla. Við tökum við nemendum og kennurum allstaðar að úr heiminum, 18 ára og eldri sem öll leggja til breytileika hverrar annar og deila þekkingu á milli nemenda, starfsfólks og gesta.
Við erum lítill skóli vegna þess að það gerir okkur kleift að einbeita okkur að öllum þátttakendum sem velja að mæta. Við kappkostum við að veita þátttakendum tilraunakennda fræðsluupplifun sem gefur grunn fyrir frekari listsköpun og nám, atvinnulífið og lífið almennt. Við hvetjum til sérstöðu einstaklingsins og styðjum þátttakendur á leið þeirra í átt að sterkari sjálfsvitund ásamt því að þróa skilning á heiminum sem við lifum í og getu þeirra til að taka þátt í honum.
Í LungA-skólanum gerum við tilraunir með listrænar og landbundnar aðferðir sem leiðir til að gera, hugsa og vera til, rækta, raska, afbaka og umbreyta hugmyndum okkur um fagurfræði, nám, skynjun og góða dómgreind. Við erum skóli sem krefst þess að verðmæti og tilvist þeirra hluta sem ekki er hægt að mæla séu metin og krefjumst þess að þeim sé ákennt. Við krefjumst þess að opna á það hvernig við sjáum, hugsum og gerum. Við krefjumst þess að það að sjá, hugsa og gera séu ekki aðskildar athafnir. Við krefjumst þess að allar kringumstæður hafi óendanlega möguleika og allir sem eru til staðar geti dregið þá möguleika fram. Við krefjumst þess að gefa öllum tíma, rými, stuðning og mögnum upp mál þeirra, svo að sá háttur sem þau hafa í samskiptum í efnislegum og óefnislegum aðstæðum, þróist og taki rætur í þeim og þeirra lífi.

Um starfið
Við erum að leita að skipulögðum og samvinnuþýðum einstaklingi sem er með skilning og opinn fyrir þörfum listsköpunar. Viðkomandi þarf að hafa framúrskarandi samskiptafærni með brennandi áhuga á að styðja við nám og sérstaklega óhefðbundnu námi og möguleikana í jafningjanámi.
Sem stjórnandi munt þú sjá um daglega starfsemi skólans, tengja samstarfsaðila, þátttakendur og starfsfólk, og bregðast við breytilegu eðli og þörfum skólans. Þetta hlutverk snýst ekki bara um skipulag heldur um að styðja allar deildir skólans sem samfélag innan samfélags.
Vinnutími
Þar sem um er að ræða hlutastarf í staðbundinni vinnu getur vinnutíminn verið mjög sveigjanlegur. Þegar skólinn er í fullum gangi hittist skólinn klukkan 09:00 á morgnana. Þetta getur hentað vel með skapandi störfum eða fjarnámi.

About
The LungA School is an independent, artist-led institution in Seyðisfjörður, constituted as an Icelandic Folk School. The school was founded in 2013. It is an experimental art school and operates in accordance with the Act on Folk Schools. We accept students and educators from multiple countries around the world, aged 18 and above, contributing to the diversity of each program and sharing knowledge between students, staff and guests.
We are a small school because that allows us to focus on each student that decides to attend. We strive to give the students an experimental educational experience as a foundation for further artistic practices and studies, work life and life in general. We encourage a person's uniqueness and support students on their path towards a stronger sense of self, along with developing an understanding of the world we live in and their ability to act in it.
At LungA School we experiment with artistic and land-based practices as a way of doing, thinking and being in order to cultivate, disturb, distort and transform our notions of aesthetics, learning, perception and good judgement. This is a school that insists on the value and existence of those things that cannot be measured and insists on making them felt. We insist on opening up the way we see, think and do. We insist that seeing, thinking and doing are not separate activities. We insist on the infinite potential that each situation and everyone in it holds and we insist on drawing out those potentials. We insist on giving time, space, support and amplification to everyone so that their own language, meaning the way they interact with all material and immaterial circumstances, may be developed and rooted in them and in their lives.

Seyðisfjörður has for many years been a hub for artists and other creatives, and it is the setting for many cultural initiatives all year round. This unique place gives an opportunity for deeper focus, inspiration, thorough experimentation and collaborations with the spaces, initiatives, people resident in the fjord. These include the Herðubreið Community and Cultural Center, HEIMA art collective, Skaftfell Art Center, Skalanes Nature and Heritage Center and Herðubíó. The LungA School is supported by the Ministry of Education and the municipality of Múlaþing.
The Role
Overview
We are looking for someone highly organised and collaborative but with an openness and understanding of the needs of artistic practices. They should be an excellent communicator with great attention to detail and be passionate about supporting learning. We are looking for an imaginative person who believes in alternative education and is excited by the possibilities of residential, non-hierarchical, peer-to-peer learning.
As Administrator, you will care for the school’s activities, connecting partners, participants, and staff, responding to the porous nature of the school and its shifting needs. This role is not just about organisation, but about supporting the school in each of its iterations as a community within a community.
Hours
As a part-time, in-person job the hours can be very flexible. When the school is in full swing, the school meets at 09:00 in the morning. This can work very well with a creative practice or online studies.

We maintain a practice of paying all staff equally regardless of their position.
Responsibilities
Office management, record keeping and processing of statistical information
Handle payroll, accounting and planning in collaboration with bookkeepers and accountants
Collect tuition fees and other income
Collaborate with various parties on school matters, such as the municipality, ministries and other institutions
Coordination of individual and collaborative projects
