Engineering Specialist in Renewable Energy Technologies

About the Company:

Join a deep-tech hardware startup developing an innovative non-turbine based hydropower energy generator. Our engineering team is building a large-scale prototype in our industrial facility in Reykjavik. We're seeking talented engineers and scientists to contribute to our growth.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • R&D of cutting-edge hydropower technology.
  • Simulations of the physics involved in each step of the engine’s batch process.
  • Apply engineering and science know-how in a hands-on environment.
  • Collaborate on the design of large-scale industrial systems.
Educational and skill requirements
  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD preferred) in Engineering or Physics.
  • Proficiency with design and simulation software for physical systems (3D design, FEA, CFD and/or general simulations) with software packages such as Comsol, Vensim, Simulink (or in Python), design tools such as Autodesk Inventor and/or fluid simulations in e.g. Ansys.
  • Broad general interest in technology and renewable energy
  • Good conversational skills and comfort with participating in brainstorming sessions. 
  • Team player that takes responsibility for project deliverables.
