

Duty Production Manager
Duty Production Manager are responsible for assisting the Production Manager with all operational processes within the Production department. Duties include assisting and instructing Production supervisors, if needed.
Duty Production Manager work closely with the team to ensure that production is on time and produced in a safe way.
Duty Production Manager provides support to Newrest’s operations
- to manage and direct the Production unit, within timescales, budgets and within direct/indirect headcount numbers in accordance with Clients specifications.
- to ensure compliance issues concerning Health, Safety, Welfare at Work, Quality, Food Safety and Management of the Environment, as integrated into the operational practices of the company
- Duty Production Manager position work hours are shift based.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Assist the Production Manager for any operational Production processes,
- Drive, instruct and assist Production Supervisors, if needed
- Ensure delivery of products and service to customers according to airline specifications and expectations
- Ensure the completion of tasks in an effective and efficient way according to agreed objectives, procedures & specifications
- Develop departmental competence by training staff and maintaining a continuously improving ethic with people, process and system related procedures to maintain optimum team performance
- Participate with customer menu development and execution
- Ensure that adherence to in-house policies and procedures are sustained and consistently
- Lead initiatives and provide a platform for change
- Ensure Food safety and Health & Safety compliance is adhered & understood
- Maintain and develop material cost control standards through optimized operational flows
- Supporting and participating in customer visits
- Staff planning and control of man-hours used for the Production
- Planning and control of the man-hours according to the budget. Provide explanation for deviations and if necessary develop corrective measures (such as improve processes, stream line production flow, provide additional training)
- Communicate and hand over with the 2nd Duty Production Manager,
- Cover duty Production Manager role as and when required.
- Any other task required by Production Manager
Competences:
- Good business acumen, including written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
- Proven experience and ability to manage people, processes, and technology and manage.
- HACCP practice
Experience:
- Bachelor’s in production / catering or food industry,
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Production (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with multiple departments and customers.
- Demonstration of staff management and subordinates in all areas.
Skills:
- Management skills with a large team
- Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment
- Ability to do accurate forecasting
- Attendance, diligence, punctuality, reliability
- Excel software and reporting skills
