Design, implement, and optimize database systems based on user requirements.
Ensure database performance, security, and regular backups.
Manage database indexes, partitions, and user access.
Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing technical support.
Collaborate with developers and IT teams on application issues and deployments.
Plan for database scalability, upgrades, and data migration.
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with data protection standards.

Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in database administration.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in database technologies such as MSSQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra, DB2and SQL scripting.
Experience in performance tuning, optimization, and high availability database setups.
Knowledge of backup, recovery procedures, and data security best practices.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with DevOps tools and practices for database management is a plus
Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, Azure SQL Database) is a plus

The role may require on-call availability for handling urgent database issues
