Community and Communication Specialist

Community Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including residents of Mýrin, the Vísindagarðar Innovation Hub.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage events to support the Vísindagarðar community.
• Oversee the management, operations, and day-to-day activities of Mýrin, ensuring smooth functioning.
• Act as the primary point of contact for community inquiries and engagement.

Marketing and Communications:

• Manage marketing and promotional efforts for Vísindagarðar, including content creation and maintenance of websites and digital media platforms.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the visibility and reach of Vísindagarðar and Mýrin.

Cross-Team Support:

• Collaborate with the Managing Director and other teams to support strategic projects and organisational initiatives.
• Assist with purchasing, facility management, and coordination of technical needs.
• Take on additional tasks as needed to contribute to the overall success of Vísindagarðar’s mission.

What We’re Looking For

• Proficiency in Icelandic is essential (spoken and written).
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to adapt to diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships within the community.
• Experience in marketing, communications, or event management.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• An interest in innovation and supporting entrepreneurial ecosystems is an advantage.
