Software Engineer
CCP is looking for a Software Engineer with a deep passion for video games to work on EVE Online.
You will be part of the graphics team, working closely with artists and programmers in our Reykjavík studio and collaborating with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
Your Tasks:
- Apply effective engineering methodologies and best practices to ensure the highest possible quality
- Deliver new features to the game and improve existing systems
- Collaborate closely with engineers and artists both within the team and across the studio
- Contribute to improvements in performance and rendering-related features
- Break down and prioritize tasks to deliver high-quality results within the given timeframe
- Help maintain a collaborative and supportive team environment
Your Profile:
- 2–3+ years of experience in software development or equivalent experience
- Strong programming and debugging skills
- Experience with Python. Knowledge of C++ is a plus
- Interest in real-time rendering, graphics programming, or GPU-driven systems is highly valued
- Familiarity with shader programming (HLSL/GLSL) or modern graphics pipelines is a plus
- Experience or interest in developing internal tools or pipeline automation to support artists and engineers
- Experience working with performance-critical systems or optimizing complex codebases
- Comfortable tackling difficult technical problems and finding creative solutions
- Passionate about working on a sandbox MMO with unique challenges, complex dynamics, and a player-driven ecosystem
