

Operations Manager – Tindasel
We are now looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to take full ownership of daily operations as we move into opening and early operational phase. This is on-site full time role, Tindasel is located about 1,5 hours from Reykjavik.
This is an on-site leadership role. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring smooth operations, high service standards, and a world-class guest experience. In the early phase, you will be involved in everything from guest interaction to staff coordination and problem-solving on the ground. You will work closely with the owner and have real responsibility and influence over how Tindasel is run and how SOP's are shaped.
- Overall responsibility for daily hotel operations
- Guest experience from arrival to departure
- Ensuring rooms, common areas, spa/sauna, and facilities meet agreed standards
- Handling guest requests, issues, and special arrangements
- Scheduling and supervising housekeeping, kitchen/breakfast staff, and seasonal employees
- Onboarding and training new staff
- Ensuring staff follow procedures, standards, and service philosophy
- Acting as the main point of contact for staff on-site.
- Maintaining consistency in service and cleanliness
- Creating and improving simple SOPs where needed
- Ensuring compliance with Icelandic health, safety, and hospitality regulations
- Daily/weekly reporting to ownership (occupancy, guest feedback, issues)

Proven experience in hospitality, tourism, or hotel operations in Iceland

Strong operational mindset and problem-solving skills

Comfortable working independently and taking ownership

Excellent communication skills in English (Icelandic is a strong advantage)

Flexible and reliable understands seasonality and peak periods

Valid driver’s license
