IT Engineer
Lucinity is a Human AI company fighting financial crime — blending human judgement with AI to help compliance teams increase capacity and strengthen oversight without giving up control.
We're now building the next generation of Human AI Operations — the next step in how AI and people work together to run a modern financial crime function.
What You'll Do
We're looking to add a hands-on IT Engineer to our team as soon as possible. You'll own and improve the tooling that keeps Lucinity's employees productive, and keep our laptops, identities, and SaaS environment secure and well-managed across our Reykjavík headquarters and colleagues in other locations.
The day-to-day work is IT operations. Over time, the focus shifts to automation, continuously reducing manual work and making it easier for the rest of the company to handle common tasks independently.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day IT operations — onboarding, offboarding, access requests, laptop provisioning, and support across our Reykjavík headquarters and colleagues in other locations.
- Manage and improve our endpoint fleet: imaging, role-based configuration, remote wipe, patching, and compliance reporting.
- Automate mundane tasks — permission grants, group membership, license assignment, software distribution — so the team self-serves where it's safe to.
- Administer our identity and SaaS stack (Azure / Entra ID, Harmony, UID Enterprise, and the rest of our tools) and keep the integrations between them healthy.
- Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and asset inventory.
Key challenges
- Balancing employee productivity with the security posture expected of a vendor to large financial institutions.
- Continuously simplifying — every recurring ticket is a candidate for automation.
Who You Are
You thrive on simplifying and automating repetitive work. You'd rather solve problems with scripts than tickets, and you take pride in clean, reliable, well-documented systems. You're comfortable balancing enablement with security, know when to push back on risky requests, and understand that for a vendor to financial institutions, IT operations and security are the same conversation.
You likely have
- 4+ years in an IT, IT operations, or sysadmin role, ideally at a SaaS or fintech company.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure / Entra ID — users, groups, conditional access, SSO, app registrations.
- Hands-on experience with endpoint management and MDM: imaging laptops, enforcing baselines, remote wipe, and patching.
- Comfort scripting to automate provisioning, access, and reporting tasks.
- Experience administering a SaaS estate (Microsoft 365, identity provider, endpoint protection, asset/IT management tooling).
- Clear communication — able to translate between non-technical employees and engineering.
- A bias toward documentation and repeatability over heroic one-off fixes.
Desirable
- A security background — exposure to ISO 27001 / SOC 2 controls, vulnerability management, or working alongside a security function.
- Experience with Check Point Harmony or a comparable endpoint / SASE product.
- Experience with UID Enterprise or another unified identity / MDM platform.
- Familiarity with 1Password, Keycloak, or other secret / access management tools.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (financial services, healthcare, government).
- Experience with source-control-managed infrastructure (Git, IaC, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with ISO 42001 (AI).
- Experience managing Apple macOS fleets.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Cloudflare.
