FINANCE/HR MANAGER
We are seeking a dynamic Finance/HR Manager to oversee and integrate financial management and human resources functions for our Pollard Digital Solutions – EU Icelandic operations which is a technology development centre with approximately forty staff specializing in product development and management. The Finance/HR Manager will report directly into the Chief Financial Officer and indirectly into the Managing Director. This role is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities that relate to the operations in Iceland. In addition, the Finance/HR Manager will provide leadership to foster a positive working environment and drives a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee empowerment
All routine accounting and finance activities, including:
- Accurate booking of invoices
- Timely payment of approved invoices
- Monthly reconciliation of accounts.
- General ledger maintenance
- Oversight of payroll activities
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis for Iceland operations with presentation to the Pollard Digital Solutions-EU group
- Coordinate and manage the local Iceland annual audit, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts to anticipate future cash needs.
- onitor daily cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
- Lead the preparation of the annual Iceland budget, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances.
- Complete any required capital expenditure requests for the facility operations.
- Support the Rannís R&D Tax refund application with input from the appropriate product managers and support from the auditor.
- Work closely with Finance team leader and other staff in Austria, Serbia and Spain.
- Work with parent company Finance group as required.
- Communicate with local tax authorities and other business partners, as required.
Key HR and Office related responsibilities
- Leadership role in advocating company culture with an emphasis on good working conditions and morale. Support organizational culture initiatives and change management efforts.
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and conflicts, providing guidance and support to resolve issues.
- Support leaders in identifying training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career growth in coordination with global HR resources and leadership.
- Maintain office services by organizing office operations and procedures, controlling correspondence, designing filing systems, reviewing and approving supply requisitions, and assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
- Define procedures for retention, protection and retrieval, transfer and disposal of records.
- Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
- Design and implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures, measuring results against standards, and making necessary adjustments.
- Communication as required with the landlord and other service providers relative to the day-to-day operation of the facility.
- 5-10 years of experience in a Finance/HR Manager role.
- Direct experience of managing day-to-day finance and accounting and human resource related activities
- Experience with payroll and general employment regulations and policies
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and regulations
- A flexible can-do attitude, good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) or other standard ERP programs, Internet Business Banking, Foreign Exchange, Office 365 required.
- Experience of Atlassian Jira and Atlassian Confluence Wiki is beneficial.
- Understanding of the working of software development companies is beneficial.
