Dýralæknir í fiskeldi/Veterinarian in Aquaculture

The work includes, among other things:

  • Regular health inspections at fish farms, both at sea and on land

  • Sampling and disease diagnostics

  • Laboratory work

  • Advisory work on improving fish welfare and preventive health measures

  • Education and training for fish farm employees

  • Various health and infection control assessments

  • Participation in diverse projects and occasional research activities

  • Hygiene audits of fish farming equipment and service vessels

This is a temporary position (end of September 2027), with the possibility of becoming a permanent role for the right candidate.

Educational and skill requirements
  • Work permit for Iceland

  • Veterinarian degree with authorization in Iceland

  • Industry experience is required

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team

  • Good Icelandic or English language skills.
