Tech Lead – Travel

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to take on the Tech Lead role in our Travel Product Team. The team enhances the passenger experience from booking through to arrival, with a strong focus on mobile app development alongside web, delivering innovative, tech-driven solutions that streamline processes, provide real-time information, empower self-service, and improve operational efficiency while reducing costs and increasing customer retention.

You will own the technical direction of the Travel domain, working closely with product managers, engineers and QA to ensure we build reliable, performant experiences across web and mobile.

What you’ll do:

Lead architecture and full solution lifecycle across the Travel domain.

  • Define and evolve the full-stack architecture for Travel's web and mobile surfaces, owning key services, APIs, integrations and data flows. Drive technical decisions from discovery through delivery and operation, with responsibility for scalability, quality and technical debt across frontend and backend. Stay hands-on where it matters most.

Lead AI-assisted development practices

  • Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development across the team, setting the standard for how these tools are used effectively and responsibly as part of everyday engineering.

Guide the team through expertise and influence

  • Act as a technical mentor and sounding board, supporting strong decision-making and clear team ownership across the domain.

Evaluate initiatives and shape the technical roadmap

  • Assess new initiatives for feasibility, complexity and dependencies. Translate product goals into clear technical plans in collaboration with product managers.

Safeguard system quality and reliability

  • Set and uphold engineering practices across code quality, reviews, testing, CI/CD and operational readiness. Maintain a strong focus on resilience, technical health and continuous improvement.

What you bring:

Experience

  • 5+ years of professional software development, spanning both frontend and backend
  • Proven technical ownership or leadership in areas such as architecture, service ownership, leading designs or guiding other engineers
  • Experience building consumer-facing digital products end-to-end
  • Experience in the aviation technology industry is not required but considered a strong advantage

Technical skills

  • Strong fullstack development experience, comfortable owning both the client and the services behind it
  • Proficiency in React and Next.js on the frontend, experience with React Native for mobile development and solid backend experience in one or more modern languages or runtimes
  • Familiarity with Amadeus travel APIs is a meaningful plus
  • Solid understanding of modern software architecture and engineering practices

Ways of working

  • Product engineering mindset, you think in outcomes, not just deliverables, and take ownership across the full stack
  • Comfortable working in Agile product teams
  • Practical experience with CI/CD and DevOps-style practices
  • Able to produce clear technical documentation and architectural descriptions

Leadership & communication

  • Able to mentor and support other engineers
  • Able to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Able to communicate with external partners and third-party vendors, including aligning on integrations, troubleshooting issues and representing technical requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus

What we offer:

Real ownership of the architecture and technical direction of a high-visibility consumer domain

  • The opportunity to shape engineering practices and quality standards across the team
  • Close collaboration with experienced engineers, product managers and aviation experts
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Flight benefits for you and your family
