Location: Gistihúsið - Lake hotel Egilsstaðir
Start Date: May–June 2026
Schedule: 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotation

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team starting in May–June. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and is willing to take part in multiple areas of food preparation and ala carte service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods

  • Preparation of cold starters and other kitchen items

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen

  • Dishwashing and general kitchen duties when needed

  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards - HACCP

  • Work efficiently during busy service periods

Work Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts

  • 2-2-3 rotation schedule

  • With occationally shorter shifts.

Requirements

  • Experience in pastry or baking (professional kitchen experience preferred)

  • Ability to work long shifts and in a fast-paced environment

  • Team player with a positive attitude

  • Willingness to help with various kitchen tasks beyond pastry work

  • Good organizational and hygiene practices
